Apple iPod

Apple iPod

It’s not your old music player anymore. Apple’s newest iPod, now in its fifth incarnation, has the capacity to not only hold and play your favorite music, but video, gaming, and audio books as well. The iPod can hold an extensive library of audio and video files, including pictures, movies, TV shows, and artwork. 20,000 songs can be held in this sleek little device that can fit comfortably in your pocket. You can save 100 hours of video, 25,000 still pictures, or any variation of each.

These are great items for anyone who travels frequently. Take them on the road, and watch a movie to pass the long hours waiting for a flight. With ear phones, you might listen to your favorite music at the gym, on a run, or simply while riding the train to work. The newest audio books can be downloaded onto your iPod, making it a great way to pass the time on a long car ride or while waiting at the doctor’s office.

Family drives can often be more stressful than you’d imagine. There’s only so much children’s music any adult can take, so the iPod becomes a great accessory here, as well. Each of the kids can have their favorite music or programs put into their iPod, and pass at least part of the ride occupied, while the adults in the car can talk or listen to the radio. Download an audio book that’s educational and fun, or one of many tours that are available. Your kids can pass an otherwise disruptive car ride by touring a zoo or museum instead.

There are accessories available to keep your iPod protected and help in downloading from your home computer or audio system. For the busy executive, the iPod’s gaming features offer a nice break from a hectic day, right at their fingertips. The newest model can easily fit in a suit pocket, brief case, or purse.

Replace that bulky kitchen radio with Apple’s Universal Dock. Your iPod can sit on this sleek, small platform to charge, and play all of the music in your inventory continuously. The Universal Dock also supports the Apple remote, so you can change tracks or functions from across the room. This small model will save on space and allow the added function of maintaining your whole library of music and audio books for use at home as well as away.

For those who would prefer to listen to the radio, Apple offers a Radio Remote. Easy to use, this accessory comes with earphones and allows the user to listen to any FM station, both at home and on the go. Another great feature to the iPod is the ability to watch your favorite pod casts away from your computer. Pod casts are becoming as popular as blogging and for their followers, missing a pod cast is like missing a favored TV show. If you don’t have the time to sit down with your computer, the pod cast can be uploaded to your iPod for later viewing. This way, you’re not taking time away from other tasks. Simply use the time you spend waiting, traveling, or otherwise wasted to enjoy some of your favorite audio or visual applications. A nice benefit of this is the ability to have a little relaxation and downtime in your otherwise hectic day. Taking your mind off of your work can help you rejuvenate for the rest of the day ahead of you, without chaining you to your computer terminal.
